I have always had an interest in sport and competed as a professional athlete at the 2004 Athens Olympics, finishing seventh in the double handed ladies sailing event.
Since qualifying I have worked as a Physiotherapist with Olympic and Commonwealth Games athletes and have worked with the English Institute of Sport, Durham University and Newcastle University sports teams, Newcastle City Gymnastics Club and British Rowing.
I have been the Lead Physiotherapist on the Start programme at British Rowing since 2015 (which is a high performance training programme which identifies, recruits and develops individuals to become Olympic and World Championship rowers).
I love the fact that Physio challenges you, to understand more, to learn more and to solve problems….no two people are the same! It is important to me that whoever the patient is, irrelevant of their sporting background, that I can understand and put into place a treatment plan to help that patient achieve their goals, pain free!
The treatment techniques may include, manual therapy, soft tissue release, acupuncture, movement analysis and exercise, or most likely a combination of treatments.

What I love most about my job is the number of people I meet every day from all walks of life!! I am fascinated by the body and take pride in problem solving and assisting you and your individual needs to optimise your recovery so you can strive to achieve your goals.
I utilise a mixture of treatment techniques including manual therapy, soft tissue therapy, biomechanics, exercise prescription and rehabilitation. I also have a keen interest in chronic pain and of course, sports medicine.
I had the honor of representing England in Netball at all age groups through to senior level gaining selection for the World Youth Championships in 1999. I played in the National Super Cup and National Super League for teams including Team Northumbria and Loughborough Lightning between 2001 and 2013.
I am also a netball coach working towards my Level 3 Qualification coaching local Riverside Netball Club based at the Vertu Eagles Arena and Newcastle University.
I love spending my time running and keeping fit, continuing to play and coach netball and bringing up my young family.
